Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, claiming the life of one person every 37 seconds or one million persons annually. It is responsible for 40 percent of all the deaths in the United States, more than all forms of cancer combined.

 

The Forty-four for Life Foundation was developed to increase the rate of survival and decrease the rate of disability from heart diseases in under served populations (that is, populations with the highest prevalence of disease and risk of death). We aim to accomplish this through the implementation of heart disease education, awareness, training and prevention programs.

 

Our mission is to help create a healthier population by reducing the incidence of death and illness due to heart disease among at-risk populations including, but not limited to persons with pre-existing heart conditions, athletes, persons of low socioeconomic status, children, women, and other minorities.
